The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently released its postseason awards for the 2009-10 season, and both the Babson College men's and women's swimming and diving teams were recognized with CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors for the spring semester. Presented twice each year, once after each academic semester, the CSCAA Scholar All-America awards are bestowed on teams that achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. In addition to performing admirably in the pool, both the Babson men's and women's teams surpassed this mark this past spring. [+]

Two Babson College swimming and diving athletes have been named to the New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Academic Team. Sophomore Nikita Nadkarni (North Brunswick, N.J.) represented the womens team and senior Ted Plaisted (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) earned a spot on the mens team. In order to be eligible for this award, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have to be a sophomore or higher in class standing. [+]

The Babson College women's swimming and diving team finished up its 2009-2010 season with the final day of the NEWMAC Championships at Wellesley College on Sunday. The Beavers finished the event in ninth place overall. Highlighting the day for Babson was the trio of sophomore Nikita Nadkarni (North Brunswick, N.J.), first-year Keira Yeager (Huntington, N.Y.), and sophomore Meaghan Rohde (St. Paul, Minn.). Nadkarni and Yeager both reached the final of the 200 breaststroke competition, as Nadkarni finished sixth overall with a final time of 2:34.15 and Yeager was close behind in eighth place with a time of 2:38.76. Rohde also had a big day, placing 26th in the 200 back and 22nd in the 1650 free - breaking her own school record in the latter event with a new Babson mark of 19:21.81. [+]
