BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College men's and women's swimming & diving teams were recognized for their work in the classroom for the third consecutive semester on Tuesday when they received Scholar All-America team honors from the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
Under the direction of second-year head coach Kristy Martin, the Beavers were among 688 teams and 430 institutions from the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA to earn Scholar All-America distinction from the CSCAA. The women's squad posted a 3.36 grade-point average, while the men's team finished with a 3.21 GPA during the 2017 fall semester.
For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
Babson returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Bridgewater State for its regular season finale beginning at 1 p.m.
