Amber White begins her third season as the pitching coach for the Babson College softball team in 2017-18. White came to Babson Park after spending the 2015 campaign as an assistant coach at Brandeis University.
After helping the Beavers win 28 games in 2016, the program put together a historic 2017 campaign that included 33 victories, a NEWMAC Tournament championship, and the first NCAA Tournament Super Regional appearance in school history.
A 2014 graduate of Bridgewater State University, White was a three-time MASCAC Pitcher of the Year and garnered NFCA All-America first-team honors after going 25-5 with 158 strikeouts and 0.73 earned run average in 202.2 innings pitched. She led the Bears to back-to-back conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013 and 2014, when Bridgewater State finished 32-14 and advanced to the Division III Super Regionals.
White, who transferred from Plymouth State University following the 2011 season, went 56-18 with a 0.98 ERA, 427 strikeouts and 29 shutouts in three years with the Bears. She is Bridgewater State’s career leader in ERA and shutouts, and ranks third in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched.
