Shannon Torosian begins her third season as an assistant coach with the Babson College softball program in 2017-18. The Beavers went 33-16 in 2017, while capturing the program's first NEWMAC Tournament championship since 2006 and reaching the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals for the first time in school history. Torosian also was part of Babson's NFCA New England Coaching Staff of the Year last season.
A 2014 graduate of Emerson College, Torosion was a four-year standout for the softball team. She played in 152 career games for the Lions and hit .357 with 41 doubles, and nine home runs to go along with 134 runs scored and 102 RBI. A three-time All-GNAC selection and an NFCA All-Region pick as a junior in 2013, Torosion helped Emerson win 93 games and make three straight GNAC Tournament appearances before joining the NEWMAC in 2014.
In addition to her work with the softball team, Torosian was hired as Babson's full-time Athletics Coordinator in August 2016.
