LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Babson College senior Ali Reilly (New Canaan, Conn.) added to her postseason awards haul when she was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-New England third team on Wednesday afternoon.
The Beavers' first all-region selection since 2013, Reilly capped her tremendous career by going 16-6 with a career-best 1.97 ERA and 112 strikeouts in 145.1 innings pitched this spring. A two-time All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) honoree, she led the league in complete games (17), ranked second in both wins and innings, third in strikeouts and fifth in earned run average to go with three shutouts.
Reilly, who helped lead the Green and White to a conference tournament title and the first NCAA Super Regionals appearance in school history in 2017, was at her best in the postseason over the last two seasons going 9-2 with a 0.77 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 81.2 innings. She tossed five shutouts during this stretch and was the winning pitcher in five of Babson's seven elimination-game victories.
The only pitcher in program history to win 60 games, Reilly finishes her career as Babson's all-time leader in appearances (107), starts (86) and innings pitched (600.2). She also ranks second in strikeouts (416), shutouts (16) and complete games (62), and is eighth in ERA (2.55) and to go along with an overall record of 60-32.
Babson went 27-16 this past spring and reached the NEWMAC Tournament final for the third time in the last six years.
