WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College junior Ashley Tango (Reading, Mass.) was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference team for the second year in a row last week.
Tango has started all 38 games at third base this spring and is batting a career-best .351 with one home run, 19 runs scored and 22 RBI. She has matched her career high with a team-best 11 doubles and is third on the team with seven stolen bases in nine attempts. Defensively, Tango has already recorded a career-best 75 assists, and made just two errors while posting a .960 fielding percentage in 18 NEWMAC games.
Babson (24-14) is seeded third in this week's NEWMAC Tournament and will take on sixth-seeded Emerson in the opening round on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Worcester.
