BABSON PARK, Mass.—Sophomore Annie Quine (Santa Monica, Calif.) hit a go-ahead grand slam in the first game of the day and senior Leslie Moore (Atkinson, N.H.) went deep in game two as the Babson College softball team rallied from a pair of deficits on its way to advancing to the NCAA Tournament Super Regionals with back-to-back wins over Rowan University on May 15.

On the heels of winning three straight elimination games in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament, the Beavers repeated the feat to claim the Babson Park Regional title. Following a 4-3 loss to Rowan on May 13, Babson outlasted Framingham State, 1-0, in nine innings behind a one-hitter from junior Ali Reilly (New Canaan, Conn.), and then downed the Profs twice to advance to the super regionals.

As they had in the first meeting of the regional, the Green and White found itself in an early 3-0 hole against Rowan. Babson pulled within a run in the fourth and then exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh, which included a grand slam from Quine to extend its season with a 7-4 win.

The Profs again jumped out in front in the winner-take-all final and led 2-1 in the last of the fifth when Moore blasted a two-run homer, her first since April 8, to give the Beavers a 3-2 lead. First-year Brooke Stock (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) stranded the tying run at third in the sixth and struck out the side in the seventh to preserve the victory.

The Green and White, which finished the year at 33-16, split its first two games of its super regional matchup with Williams before the Ephs advanced to the College World Series with a 6-1 triumph in game three of the series.
