Wojnar Selected To Play In NEWISA Senior Bowl

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- After enjoying a brilliant season in net for the Babson women's soccer team, senior captain Lisa Wojnar (Bellaire, Texas) has been selected to play in the 2011 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl. The game will be held at Merrimack College this Sunday, December 4, at 11 a.m.

Wojnar is coming off a season in which she was named NEWMAC Co-Player of the Year after posting 10 shutouts and holding opponents to a 0.58 goals against average. She also made 114 saves to earn All-Conference accolades for the second straight year.

After converting to goalkeeper after playing the field for the first two years of her Babson career, Wojnar started 36 games in net for the Beavers and posted a 21-11-4 record with 19 shutouts. She earned Babson's first conference Player of the Year honor since All-American and Babson Athletics Hall of Famer Julie Tienken '94 in 1993. Together, Tienken and Wojnar are the only two players in program history to earn the accolade.
