Wojnar Collects Third NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor
BABSON PARK, Mass. -- For the third time this fall, Babson College senior goalie Lisa Wojnar (Bellaire, Texas) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Wojnar recorded a 0.43 goals against average and a .950 save percentage in a 0-1-1 week for the Beavers. On Tuesday, she turned away 11 shots in a 0-0 double-overtime tie at Wheaton. It was the senior captain's 10th shutout of the year, tying Babson's single-season record originally set by Stephanie Balaouras back in 1995. On Saturday, Wojnar made eight more saves in a 1-0 double-overtime loss to Springfield.
Through the Beavers' first 16 games, Wojnar now boasts a 0.47 GAA and a .928 save percentage in a little over 1526 minutes of action. She and her teammates will finish up their regular season play with a NEWMAC game at MIT on Saturday at 1 p.m.
