BABSON PARK, Mass. -- For the first time in her young collegiate career, Babson College first-year Jessica DiPhilippo (Falmouth, Maine) has been honored as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
DiPhilippo assisted three pivotal goals in a perct 2-0 week for Babson, which extended its win streak to six games and its unbeaten streak to eight contests. On Tuesday, she tallied the primary assist on both the tying goal in the 55th minute and the game-winner with under two minutes to go in the second overtime in a 2-1 victory at Endicott. Then on Saturday, the rookie striker assisted what would prove to be the game-winning goal in the 51st minute of a 3-2 win at Smith.
Through the first nine games of the season, DiPhilippo now leads the Beavers with four goals and three assists for 11 points.
Babson returns to action this Saturday, when the Green and White play host to WPI in a NEWMAC contest beginning at noon.
