Women's Alpine Ski Places Third in Both Slalom Races at Proctor

ANDOVER, N.H.—The Babson College women's alpine ski team finished third in a pair of slalom races over the weekend at Proctor Ski Area.

Castleton came in first in both races, while Brown finished ahead of the Beavers in second place on both Friday and Saturday.

Junior Sarah Mangiacotti (South Londonderry, Vt.) was Babson's top finisher on Friday posting a two-run time of 1:40.00 to come in fifth overall among MacConnell Division competitors. Senior Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) placed 10th in a time of 1:43.68, which was 0.16 seconds ahead of first-year Lauren Abdow (South Londonderry, Vt.), who finished one spot behind her in 11th position.

Sophomore Julia Martin (Belmont, Mass.) came in 17th and classmate Kendall Sargis (Duxbury, Mass.) rounded out the squad with a 34th-place showing.

Mangiacotti registered her fourth top-10 result of the season in Saturday's slalom by crossing the finish line in seventh place with a two-run time of 1:40.81. Abdow finished eighth just 0.24 seconds behind her and Baer recorded a 10th-place showing with a time of 1:41.91.

Martin came in 14th overall, posting a time just under three seconds behind Baer, while Sargis finished in 31st position.

Babson returns to action next Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, N.Y.
