GORHAM, N.H.—Senior Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) and junior Sarah Mangiacotti (South Londonderry, Vt.) both recorded a pair of top-10 finishes for the Babson College women's alpine ski team on the opening weekend of MacConnell Division competition at Wildcat Mountain.

The Beavers finished atop the team standings in Thursday's giant slalom and followed it up with a second-place showing behind Castleton in the slalom on Friday.

Mangiacotti was Babson's top finisher in the GS, posting a two-run time of 1:33.23 to come in second by just over a second. Baer was 0.74 seconds behind her in third place, while sophomore Julia Martin (Belmont, Mass.) placed 13th overall in a time of 1:38.53. Classmate Kendall Sargis (Duxbury, Mass.) also recorded a 43rd-place showing for the Green and White.

Baer registered a two-run time of 1:47.44 that was just over four seconds off the pace and good for sixth place in Friday's slalom. Mangiacotti was just under a second behind her in seventh position, while first-year Lauren Abdow (South Londonderry, Vt.) finished eighth in a time of 1:49.12.

Babson returns to action on Friday when it travels to Proctor Ski Area in Andover, N.H., for two days of slalom races.
