Beavers Book Fourth Straight Ticket to USCSA National Championships in March 

CARABASSET VALLEY, Maine—The Babson College women's ski team tied for second place overall at the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championships over the weekend at Sugarloaf Mountain.

The Beavers, who came in third in the giant slalom and fourth in the slalom, booked their fourth straight trip to nationals. Castleton won both races to finish atop the combined standings, while the Green and White tied with Connecticut for second.

Sophomore Sarah Mangiacotti (South Londonderry, Vt.) posted the second best second run in the GS to come in fourth overall on Saturday. Junior Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) placed 15th and was followed closely behind by first-year Julia Martin (Belmont, Mass.) in 21st position, while senior Olivia Burwell (Manchester Center, Vt.) in 26th place.

Baer came in ninth in Sunday's slalom, while Burwell and Martin (Belmont, Mass.) finished 23rd and 24th, respectively. First-year Kendall Sargis (Duxbury, Mass.) recorded a 43rd-place finish and Mangiacotti was 45th.

Baer led the Beavers by coming in sixth in the combined standings, while Martin placed 16th and Burwell was just four spots behind her in 20th place.

Babson returns to the slopes on March 12 when it begins national championship competition at Snow King Mountain in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
