ANDOVER, N.H.—The Babson College women's alpine ski team wrapped up MacConnell Division competition with a pair of second-place finishes in the slalom on Saturday at Proctor Ski Area.

By virtue of their results on Saturday, the Beavers finished second in the regular season standings for the second consecutive year. Castleton won its first MacConnell Division title, while UConn, Saint Anselm and UMass all qualified for regionals.

Sophomore Elizabeth Baer (Salt Lake City, Utah) was Babson's top finisher in the first race of the day in second place. Senior Michelle Martin (Belmont, Mass.) came in sixth, classmate Tatum Alkier (Collingwood, Ontario) finished 10th and senior Alexis Kane (North Syracuse, N.Y.) placed 22nd.

Baer backed up her morning finish by coming in first for the second time in three races in the regular season finale. Martin posted her second consecutive sixth-place result, while Alkier was 11th. Junior Olivia Burwell (Manchester Center, Vt.) was one spot behind her in 12th and Kane finished 22nd overall.

Baer (2nd), Martin (6th) and Alkier (9th) all finished in the top 10 of the MacConnell Division individual standings and will be named to the all-league team later this week.

Babson returns to action on the weekend of February 24-25 when it competes at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at West Mountain.
