Four From Women's Lacrosse Earn All-New England Accolades
The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently announced its 2013 All-Region teams, and four members of the Babson College women’s lacrosse team were selected to the New England Berkshire Region squad. Junior Misha Beatty (Westwood, Mass.) was named to the first team, while senior captains Taylor Kralovenec (Cos Cob, Conn.) and Jameson Spang (Kennebunk, Maine) joined sophomore Rachel Secrist (Westford, Mass.) on the second team.

Babson Honors Class of 2013 at 32nd Annual Senior Athletics Awards Banquet
The Babson College Athletics Department held its 32nd Annual Senior Awards Banquet on Friday night where a total of eight individuals received honors. Women's basketball All-American Sarah Collins (Weymouth, Mass.) and men's soccer All-American Eric Anderson (Scituate, Mass.) were named Female and Male Athletes of the Class, while women's volleyball captain Kathleen Lynch (Quincy, Mass.) received the Conlon Award, presented for the first time in honor of both Michael Conlon '96 and Michelle Conlon '94. Rounding out the list of senior award winners were softball star Catie Funk (Scarborough, Maine) and baseball slugger Chris Kucher (Westwood, Mass.), who were honored as the Scholar-Athletes of the Class. In addition to the senior awards, men's basketball first-year Travis Sheldon (Woodstock, N.Y.) received the Colin "Chip" Brown Award, women's soccer and lacrosse first-year Kristina Simonson (Easton, Mass.) was honored as the winner of the Lori Vengrow Award, and Athletics Communications Director Chris Buck received the Paul C. Staake Award for outstanding contributions to Babson Athletics.

Women's Lacrosse Falls To Springfield In NEWMAC Championship Game
Sophomore Michelle Dorsey (Wilbraham, Mass.) scored a game-high three goals and junior goalkeeper Anne Versprille (Franklin, Mass.) made 13 saves as third-seeded Springfield College used a suffocating defensive effort to defeat fourth-seeded Babson College, 7-2, to claim the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s lacrosse championship on Sunday afternoon at Keefe Field.

Senior Taylor Kralovenec (Cos Cob, Conn.) and junior Misha Beatty (Westwood, Mass.) combined to score four goals and dish out seven assists and fourth-seeded Babson College held top-seeded Wheaton College scoreless over the final 18:03 to rally for an 11-8 victory in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s lacrosse semifinal on Saturday afternoon at Keefe Field.

Babson Athletics Introduces Caitlin Irvine as New Assistant Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach
The Babson College Athletics Department announced recently that Caitlin Irvine has been named its new Assistant Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse Coach. The Westwood-native comes to Babson after an incredibly successful college career that culminated with a National Championship this past spring.
