Collins, Pettengill Cap Off Stellar Lacrosse Careers With All-America Honors
After rewriting the program's record books and leading their team to four consecutive NEWMAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, Babson College women's lacrosse senior captains Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) and Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) received the final honors of their magnificent careers on Wednesday. Collins became the first player in program history to be named to the IWLCA All-America First Team, while Pettengill was named to the IWLCA All-America Third Team. Also named ECAC New England Offensive Player of the Year and ECAC All-New England First Team earlier this week, Collins garners All-America honors for the third straight season, making her the only three-time national honoree in Babson women's lacrosse history. Meanwhile, Pettengill garners her second straight All-America Third Team award.

Five from Women's Lacrosse Earn All-Region Honors
Five Babson College womens lacrosse players have earned Intercollegiate Womens Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-New England Berkshire Region honors announced recently. Senior captain Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) earned her fourth straight First Team honor while classmate and fellow captain Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) earned her third consecutive First Team award. Also joining Pettengill and Collins on the First Team were junior Alyssa Hood (Newport, R.I.) and sophomore Trisha Babson (Duxbury, Mass.). This years award marks the first All-New England honor for Hood and the second for Trisha Babson after earning a spot on the Second Team in 2009. Also earning her first All-Region honor of her career was junior goalkeeper Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) who was selected to the All-New England Second Team.

Babson Holds Special Graduation Ceremony for Women's Lacrosse Seniors
After missing the colleges commencement activities this past Saturday due to the NCAA Division III Womens Lacrosse Tournament regional in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, four Babson College womens lacrosse players were honored Monday evening at the Glavin Chapel on the Babson campus in a special commencement ceremony. Seniors Laura Bronner (Greenwich, Conn.), Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.), Marisa Monaco (Quincy, Mass.), and Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) all received their diplomas during Mondays commencement ceremony. Holding a special ceremony for our four seniors was such a wonderful statement about how supported the student-athletes are here at Babson, said head coach Kully Reardon. I am so proud of the seniors and even more proud to be a member of the warm and supportive Babson Community.

#4 Gettysburg Overwhelms #11 Babson in NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament Second Round
The Babson College womens lacrosse team saw its stellar season come to an unfortunate end on Saturday, as the 11th-ranked Beavers fell victim to fourth-ranked host Gettysburg College, 18-5, in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Womens Lacrosse Tournament. Babson was led by senior midfielder Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.), who scored two goals to finish as the programs all-time leader with 218 goals and 277 points in her spectacular career. Fellow senior midfielder Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) added a goal, three groundballs, and three caused turnovers, as she will finish her tremendous career right behind her classmate on Babsons career lists with 216 goals and 274 points.

Macary Sends Women's Lacrosse Past Williams, 8-6, In NCAA Tournament First Round
Junior goalie Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) made 13 saves in net to help the Babson College women's lacrosse team earn a thrilling 8-6 victory over host Williams College in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament at Renzie Lamb Field on Wednesday evening. With the win, the Beavers, ranked 11th in the nation by the IWLCA, improve to 15-3 overall and will advance to Saturday's Round of 16 where they will play host Gettysburg College at 11:30 a.m. Junior attack Alyssa Hood (Newport, R.I.) led the Babson attack with three goals and one assist in the win, while first-year Jamie Spang (Kennebunk, Maine) added two goals.

Women's Lax Set To Open NCAA Tournament At Williams
After a nine-day hiatus, the Babson College women's lacrosse team is ready to hit the road to take on host Williams College in the opening round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament on Wednesday. Face-off is set for 6 p.m. with ticket prices of $3 for adults and $2 for students with ID. Making its fourth straight national tournament appearance, Babson currently sports a record of 14-3 while boasting a ranking of sixth in New England and 11th in the country. The Beavers earned an automatic bid to the tournament by winning their fourth consecutive NEWMAC Championship with a dominating 17-3 victory over Springfield back on May 2.

Collins Headlines NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Postseason Honors
On the heels of its fourth consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship, the 10th-ranked Babson College women's lacrosse team saw seven of its athletes receive honors when the league announced its postseason awards this week. Senior captain Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) was named NEWMAC Player of the Year for the second straight season, while first-year Jamie Spang (Kennebunk, Maine) was selected as Babson's sixth consecutive NEWMAC Rookie of the Year honoree. Collins, senior captain Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.), junior Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.), junior Alyssa Hood (Newport, R.I.), and sophomore Trisha Babson (Duxbury, Mass.) were all named to the All-Conference First Team, while junior Kristy Benoit (Shrewsbury, Mass.) earned Academic All-Conference honors. Collins' second straight NEWMAC Player of the Year award comes after yet another magnificent season. A Third Team All-American in 2008 and a Second Team All-American last spring, the senior midfielder currently leads the Beavers with 56 goals and 21 assists for 77 points - the second highest single-season point total in program history.

Macary Named NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
After helping her team win its fourth straight conference championship and earn its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament bid, Babson College junior goalie Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) has been selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week. The equivalent of the conference tournament MVP, the final NEWMAC Player of the Week honor went to Macary following two spectacular showings in net this weekend. In Saturdays 16-7 semifinal win over fifth-seeded MIT, she placed all 60 minutes and made six saves. She then turned in one of the finest performances of her collegiate career in Sundays championship game against second-seeded Springfield, making 12 saves including five on free position shots while allowing only three goals in just under 55 minutes of action as Babson ran away with a 17-3 victory.

Women's Lacrosse Hammers Springfield, 17-3, To Claim Fourth Straight NEWMAC Championship
Top-seeded Babson College used another dominating effort at both ends of the field to defeat second-seeded Springfield College, 17-3, in the championship game of the 2010 New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Womens Lacrosse Tournament at MacDowell Field on Sunday afternoon. As a result, the Beavers (14-3), ranked 10th in the nation by the IWLCA, claimed their fourth straight conference title and their fourth consecutive automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Senior captains Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) both made history in the win for Babson, as each surpassed the programs all-time goals record of 213 previously held by Athletics Hall of Fame member Tracy Russell 97. With four goals and one assist on Sunday, Pettengill now boasts a new program record 216 goals in her career, while Collins is close behind with 214 career scores after posting three goals and one assist in the title game. The All-American duo also holds the top two spots on Babsons career points list, with Pettengill having 274 and Collins adding 271.

Women's Lax Dumps MIT, 16-7, To Advance To Fourth Straight NEWMAC Final
Senior captain Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) recorded five points and junior Alyssa Hood (Newport, R.I.) added four to lead the top-seeded Babson College Beavers to a convincing 16-7 victory over fifth-seeded MIT in the semifinal round of the 2010 New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Womens Lacrosse Tournament at Babsons MacDowell Field on Saturday. With the win, the 10th-ranked Beavers advance to their fourth straight conference final, as they will host second-seeded Springfield College in the NEWMAC Championship Game on Sunday at 1 p.m. after the Pride knocked off third-seeded Mount Holyoke, 17-10, in Saturdays second semifinal. With her three goals and two assists, Pettengill moved past fellow senior captain Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) for first place on Babsons all-time list with 269 career points. Collins added two goals in the victory to increase her point total to 267, while Hood contributed three goals and one assist.

Babson Celebrates Class of 2010 At 29th Annual Senior Awards Banquet
The Babson College Athletics Department held its 29th Annual Senior Awards Banquet on Friday night, where a total of nine individuals were honored. Women's lacrosse senior Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) was named Female Athlete of the Class, while mens soccer senior Dan Fogarty (Brookline, N.H.) was named Male Athlete of the Class. Women's lacrosse senior Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) and ice hockey senior Gabriel Chenard-Poirier (St. Augustin, Quebec) were named Scolar-Athletes of the Class, and women's soccer senior Kayla Pomponi (Belmont, Mass.) took home the Michael J. Conlon Award. In addition to the senior awards, Grant Gosselin and the Undergraduate Admissions Team were the recipients of the prestigious Paul C. Staake Award for outstanding contributions to Babson Athletics, while a trio of first-year athletes were also honored. Softball first-year Megan Brain (Pompton Plains, N.J.) received the Lori Vengrow Award, and mens soccer freshman Eric Anderson (Scituate, Mass.) and ice hockey first-year PT Donato (Arlington, Mass.) were named co-winners of the Colin "Chip" Brown Award.

Pettengill's Seven Goals Helps Women's Lax Sink Wheaton, 13-9
Babson College senior captain Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton) matched a career-high with seven goals, including three straight during a key second-half stretch, to lead the nationally-ranked Beavers to a 13-9 victory over host Wheaton College in the final game of the New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season on Saturday afternoon. With its 30th consecutive conference win, Babson improves to 12-3 overall and 6-0 in the NEWMAC. The Beavers, who are currently ranked 10th in the country by the IWLCA, will now enter the conference tournament as the top seed, will receive a bye in Wednesdays opening round, and will host the NEWMAC Semifinals and Finals for the third straight year. The Beavers will play in the first semifinal game on Saturday, May 1, at noon, with the second semifinal matchup following at 2:30 p.m. The championship game will be played on Sunday, May 2, at 1 p.m.

Women's Lax Clinches Fourth Straight NEWMAC Regular Season Title With 18-5 Win Over MIT
The Babson College womens lacrosse team clinched its fourth consecutive New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title on Tuesday, as the Beavers defeated visiting MIT Engineers, 18-5, at MacDowell Field. Babson, which entered the game ranked 10th in the nation by the IWLCA, improved to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in the NEWMAC, while MIT fell to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in league play. With their 28th consecutive NEWMAC win, the Beavers earned the top seed and an opening round bye in next weeks conference tournament. Babson will now host the semifinals and finals on May 1 and 2 for the fourth straight season. Senior captains Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) and Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) both made history in their final regular season home game, as Collins eclipsed and Pettengill tied the programs all-time points record. Collins scored four goals and assisted two others to give her 262 points in her career, while Pettengill scored six goals to push her career points mark to 256 tying the previous record held by Anita Martignetti 08.

With the win, Babson improves to 9-3 on the season and remains undefeated in the NEWMAC at 3-0. Springfield drops to 6-3 with the loss and are now 2-1 in the NEWMAC.

Tufts Tops Women's Lacrosse, 19-13
Nine different players scored for visiting Tufts University as they defeated the Babson College womens lacrosse team, 19-13, on Tuesday afternoon at MacDowell Field. Ranked #12 by the Intercollegiate Womens Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) this week, Tufts was paced by senior attacker Emily Johnson (Yarmouth, Maine) who tallied six goals. With the win, Tufts improves to 6-2 overall and the #8 ranked Beavers dip to 8-3.

Collins Named NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
For the second time this spring, Babson College senior captain Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week in women's lacrosse. Collins recorded 10 goals and one assist for 11 points in leading 11th-ranked Babson to a 2-0 week. The Beavers' two-time All-American also totaled four groundballs and five draw controls.

Women's Lacrosse Rallies To Beat Upset-Minded Mount Holyoke, 15-11
The Babson College womens lacrosse team bounced back from a sluggish first half to outscore visiting Mount Holyoke College, 12-5, in the second stanza as the Beavers defeated the Lyons, 15-11, in a New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest at MacDowell Field on Saturday afternoon. With its 26th consecutive conference win, Babson, ranked 11th in the nation by the IWLCA, improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the NEWMAC, while the Lyons fell to 5-4 overall and 0-2 in league play. Senior captain Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) led Babson with five goals and one assist for six points. The two-time All-American also added three groundballs and two draw controls in the victory. #11 Women's Lacrosse Knocks Off #8 Middlebury, 15-13
Senior captain Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) scored five goals to lead the #11 Babson College womens lacrosse team to a thrilling 15-13 victory #8 Middlebury College Thursday afternoon at MacDowell Field. With the win, the Beavers improve to 7-2 overall while the Panthers drop to 4-2. Along with Collins five goals, Ellen McCurdy, Trisha Babson, Hood, Pettengill and first-year Jamie Spang (Kennebunk, Maine) each added two goals apiece in the victory. Trisha Babson also chipped in a game high three assists. Pettengill finished with a team high four draw controls. Junior goalkeeper Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) was brilliant in net making six saves in the win playing all 60 minutes after missing the last two games due to injury.

Second Half Surge Propels Women's Lacrosse Past Drew, 12-11
The Babson College womens lacrosse team outscored their opponent Drew University 9-4 in the second half to take the lead on their way to a 12-11 win on Sunday afternoon at MacDowell Field. The Beavers (6-2) were led by junior Ellen McCurdy (Weston, Mass.) who tallied a season high three goals. Sundays game was also played as a part of the Friends of Jaclyn Week 2010. Prior to the game, the Babson womens lacrosse team had an official adoption ceremony to welcome Daisy Locke as the newest member of their team. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families.

Nine different players scored goals and senior captain Laura Bronner made nine saves in her first career start in goal as the Babson College women's lacrosse team steamrolled host Smith College, 20-5, in its first NEWMAC contest of the season on Saturday. With the win, the Beavers, ranked 12th in the nation by the IWLCA, improved to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while the Pioneers fell to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the NEWMAC. Sophomore Erin Daley paced Babson with four goals and two assists for six points, while junior Alyssa Hood added four goals and one helper for five points. Senior captain Anna Collins chipped in with three goals and three assists, senior captain Kaitlyn Pettengill contributed two goals and one assist, and junior Ellen McCurdy and first-year Jamie Spang added two goals apiece.

Women's Lacrosse Tops Claremont Mudd Scripps, 15-10
Babson College sophomore Trisha Babson (Duxbury, Mass.) scored four goals and added five assists for the womens lacrosse team in a 15-10 win over Claremont Mudd-Scripps in Lake Lytal, Florida on Thursday afternoon. With the win the Beavers snap a two game losing streak and improve to 3-2 on the season. Claremont is now 6-3 overall.

#1 Franklin and Marshall Downs Womens Lacrosse, 16-5
The #10 ranked Babson College womens lacrosse team fell to #1 Franklin and Marshall, 16-5, on Tuesday evening in their first of three games in Lake Lytal, Florida. Senior Blake Hargest (Cockeysville, Md.) led the way for F&M scoring five goals and adding five assists for 10 points. With the win, the Diplomats improve to 3-0 on the season and the Beavers drop to 2-2. Babson was led by senior captain and NEWMAC Player of the Week, Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) who finished with three goals. Collins Named NEWMAC, ECAC New England Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Babson college senior Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) has been named the New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and the ECAC New England Womens Lacrosse Player of the Week for her outstanding play in the first three games of the 2010 season. Collins totaled 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points in the first three games for eighth-ranked Babson. The senior All-American also added 13 groundballs and six draw controls as the Beavers posted a record of 2-1. The Beavers will take on #1 ranked Franklin and Marshall in Lake Lytal, Florida on Tuesday at 7pm.

Endicott Upsets Eighth-Ranked Women's Lax, 17-16, In Double Overtime
Endicott College sophomore Morgan DeShaw scored her seventh goal of the game in sudden-death overtime to help the Gulls defeat No. 8 Babson College, 17-16, on Thursday night in Beverly, Mass. The Blue and Green improve to 2-0 overall while handing the Beavers (2-1) their first loss of the season. Babson was led by Anna Collins, who had a team-high six goals, three assists and a game-high 11 groundballs. Kaitlyn Pettengill also added five goals while Taylor Kralovenec added three scores and Trisha Babson had two of her own and six draw controls for the visitors.

Women's Lacrosse Overpowers Eastern Connecticut, 18-6
The Babson College womens lacrosse team went on a 7-0 run to start the game and never looked back as they defeated host Eastern Connecticut State University, 18-6, on Thursday afternoon. Babson was led by senior captain Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.) who tallied three goals and four assists for seven total points. With the win, the Beavers improve to 2-0 on the season while the Warriors of Eastern Connecticut start their season off at 0-1. The Beavers scored the first seven goals of the contest in just over 15 minutes of play and went on to score an additional seven before halftime to give themselves a comfortable 14-3 lead at the break. The Beavers outshot their opponents 32-14 with 25 of those shots coming in the first half while forcing 26 Eastern Connecticut turnovers.

First-year Taylor Kralovenec (Cos Cob, Conn.) scored the go-ahead goal with 16.3 seconds remaining in overtime to lead the Babson College womens lacrosse team to a thrilling 11-10 victory over visiting Union College in a high-powered season opener featuring two nationally-ranked programs. With the win, Babson, ranked 11th in the nation in the seasons first two IWLCA polls, start off at 1-0, while Union, ranked eighth in the country, begins the year at 0-1. Babson was led by senior captain and two-time All-American Anna Collins (Winchester, Mass.), who finished with three goals and one assist, and sophomore Trisha Babson (Duxbury, Mass.), who also recorded three goals and one assist while picking up three ground balls. Kralovenec added a pair of scores in her collegiate debut, junior Alyssa Hood (Newport, R.I.) posted one goal and one assist, and senior captain Kaitlyn Pettengill (Hopkinton, Mass.) tallied four groundballs and four caused turnovers. Junior goalie Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) was outstanding in net for the Beavers, finishing with eight saves.

Along the way, the Beavers, ranked 11th in the nation in this season's first two IWLCA polls, will face one of the toughest schedules in program history. Among the team's 2010 opponents are four nationally-ranked squads, including Middlebury (6th), Union (8th), Tufts (9th), and current national number-one Franklin & Marshall.
