9/1/10 - Field Hockey
Senior co-captain Sarah Fredlund (New Preston, Conn.) scored two goals to become just the fourth player in Babson College field hockey history to reach the 100-point mark, as the Beavers defeated visiting Endicott College, 5-2, in the season opener for both teams on Wednesday night. Entering her final collegiate season with 99 career points, Fredlund joined Elise Conley ’06, Andrea Tufts ’07, and former teammate Jess Paladino ’10 as the only members of Babson’s 100-point club. She now boasts 43 goals and 17 assists for 103 points in her career, moving her into third place in the program’s all-time scoring list. [+]


8/26/10 - Field Hockey
The Babson College field hockey team returns four of its top five scorers from last season, including this year’s senior co-captains and 2009 All-Region selections Sarah Fredlund (New Preston, Conn.) and Colleen Kelly (Milton, Mass.). After posting an overall record of 11-8 in 2009, fourth-year head coach Julie Ryan’s team also sports a solid recruiting class for 2010, adding nine fresh faces to the roster. Babson open the 2010 season with six consecutive home games, the first being on Wednesday, September 1, when they host Endicott College in a 6 p.m. game at MacDowell Field. [+]


4/5/10 - Field Hockey
The Babson College field hockey team was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for academic excellence this past week. The team earned the Division III National Academic Team Award for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Daniella Lobo, Kimberly Calhoun, Colleen Kelly, Alyssa L'Bassi and Emily Cohen were also honored for success in the classroom and having a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or higher earning them NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad Honors.
