WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College sophomore Lauren Curley (Stow, Mass.) was tabbed as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Curley continued her stellar play with five goals and two assists for 12 points in a pair of non-conference road wins. She finished with two goals, including the game winner, and two assists for a career-high six points in Wednesday's 4-2 victory at Union, and then notched a first-half hat trick to lead the 16th-ranked Beavers to a 6-1 triumph at Keene State on Saturday.
Curley ended the regular season with a six-game scoring streak that saw her score 11 goals and recorded two assists. She has produced four multi-goal games during the streak and ranks third in the conference in scoring with 19 goals and 41 points on the year.
Babson (17-3, 8-0 NEWMAC) earned the top seed in this week's conference tournament and will host either Springfield or Wellesley in a semifinal on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
