WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College goalkeeper Cassidy Riley (Catonsville, Md.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks on Monday afternoon.
Riley had a terrific week posting a 0.94 goals against average and a .857 save percentage to go along with one shutout in a pair of starts against nationally-ranked opponents. She made a career-high nine saves in Tuesday's 2-1 OT loss to No. 8 Tufts and followed it up with three saves to record her second career shutout in Saturday's 3-0 win over No. 13 MIT.
Over her first six starts, Riley boasts a 0.82 goals against average and has stopped 25 of 30 shots for a .833 save percentage. She also has recorded a pair of shutouts.
Fourth-ranked Babson (5-1, 1-0 NEWMAC) plays the first of thee games this week when it hosts UMass Dartmouth on Monday at 6 p.m.
