Babson Finishes Fourth In NEWMAC Presidents Cup Women's Standings
BABSON PARK, Mass.—After winning a pair of regular season titles and a tournament championship, along with reaching the finals in two other sports, the Babson College women finished fourth in the inaugural New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Presidents Cup standings.

Best of Babson Athletics 2012-13: #13
BABSON PARK, Mass.—Despite getting outshot 11-1 and giving up nine first-half penalty corners, the Babson College field hockey team scored three times in a span of 10:23 early in the second half on its way to a 4-1 win over visiting Mount Holyoke College on October 27, clinching the outright New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title and a perfect 8-0 record in league play.

Field Hockey Team, Individuals Garner National Academic Honors
The Babson College field hockey program received a number of academic awards this week, as the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and Gladiator by SGI announced their 2012 National Academic honors for both teams and individuals. In addition to matching a program record with five individual selections, the Beavers also earned team recognition for just the second time in school history by posting a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or above.

Babson Announces Five Honorees For 2013 Athletics Hall of Fame Induction
The Babson College Athletics Hall of Fame Committee has announced the five honorees for its 2013 induction ceremony to be held on Friday, April 12. The Hall of Fame’s 14th induction class will include field hockey phenom Elise Conley Weigold '06, men's soccer star Mark Sullivan '86, ice hockey legend Joe Capprini '91, women's soccer standout Julie Doscher Borjeson '88, and current men's soccer coach Jon Anderson '75, P'04, P'08, P'13.

Lockwood Becomes Field Hockey Program's Fifth All-American
The NFHCA announced its final awards of the season on Tuesday, and Babson junior captain Morgan Lockwood (Feeding Hills, Mass.) made program history when she was honored as a member of the All-America Second Team. She is just the fifth player in the 30-year history of Babson field hockey to earn national honors, joining 1994 Second Team selection Jen Archambault '95, 1999 First Team recipient Brooke Dusoe, 2004 and 2005 First Team honoree Elise Conley '06, and 2010 First Team selection Colleen Kelly '11.

Field Hockey Places Four on NFHCA All-New England East Teams
Coming off a stellar 14-5 campaign, the Babson College field hockey team placed four individuals on the All-New England Team, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) recently announced. Junior captain Morgan Lockwood (Feeding Hills, Mass.) received All-Region First Team honors, while junior Kayla Florence (Milton, Mass.), sophomore Caroline Malone (Walpole, Mass.), and senior captain Kelly Walsh (Gardner, Mass.) were each selected to the second team.

Ryan Named NEWMAC Field Hockey Coach of the Year, Five Other Receive Postseason Honors
The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its field hockey postseason awards this week, and six individuals from regular season champion Babson College received honors. Julie Ryan was named NEWMAC Coach of the Year for the second time in her career, junior captain Morgan Lockwood (Feeding Hills, Mass.), junior Kayla Florence (Milton, Mass.), and sophomore Caroline Malone (Walpole, Mass.) were named to the All-Conference First Team, senior captain Kelly Walsh (Gardner, Mass.) earned a spot on the All-NEWMAC Second Team, and junior Julia Pochini (Acton, Mass.) was named to the Academic All-Conference Team.

Walsh Selected To Play In NFHCA Division III Senior Game
Following a career year in which she ranked third on her team in scoring, Babson College senior field hockey captain Kelly Walsh (Gardner, Mass.) has been selected to play in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game. The event will take place at William Smith College on November 17 at 4 p.m.

Babson College junior Morgan Lockwood (Feeding Hills, Mass.) scored four goals, including a natural hat trick in the first half, to propel the Beavers to a 5-2 victory over visiting Bridgewater State University in a non-conference field hockey matchup at MacDowell Field on Tuesday night. With the win, Babson improved to 5-2 on the season, while the Bears suffered their first loss of the year to fall to 5-1.

Babson Athletics Introduces Caitlin Irvine as New Assistant Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach
The Babson College Athletics Department announced recently that Caitlin Irvine has been named its new Assistant Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse Coach. The Westwood-native comes to Babson after an incredibly successful college career that culminated with a National Championship this past spring.
