Bonifacic Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College senior Emily Bonifacic (Allendale, N.J.) was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week on Wednesday morning following two strong performances to begin the season last weekend.

She was joined on the team of the week by senior Ashley Brown of UMass Dartmouth, juniors Alie Seto of Washington & Jefferson and Leah Porath of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and sophomore Christina Kiser of Bard.

Bonifacic opened the season by averaging 29.0 points on 77.8 percent shooting and 8.5 rebounds on the way to being named to the all-tournament at UMass Dartmouth's Lafrance Hospitality Tournament. She poured in a career-high 38 points on 18-of-21 shooting and added 10 rebounds for a double-double in Saturday's 76-66 victory over Union. On Sunday, Bonifacic scored 20 points on 10-of-15 shooting and snared seven boards in a 57-55 loss to Western New England.

Bonifacic's 38-point outing marked the first time a Babson player had scored more than 30 points since the 2017 NEWMAC Tournament, and were the most points scored by anyone in the program in over a decade.

The Beavers (1-1) return to action on Sunday when it takes on 21st-ranked Ithaca in its opening game of the Amherst Tournament.
