BABSON PARK, Mass.—Babson College senior Payton Ouimette (Medfield, Mass.) added to her postseason awards haul when she was named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region third team for the second consecutive season on Monday afternoon.
A two-time All-New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first-team honoree, Ouimette started all 26 games and averaged a career-high 14.2 points to go along with 11.5 rebounds and a career-best 2.5 assists in 31.1 minutes. She ranked 16th in Division III with 16 double-doubles, was 23rd nationally in offensive rebounds per game (5.0) and ranked 28th in the country in rebounds per game.
The only player in the NEWMAC to rank in the top 10 in points, rebounds and assists this winter, Ouimette averaged 14.0 points and 11.6 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from the floor in two seasons at Babson after beginning her career at Connecticut College. Her rebounds per game average is the highest in program history, and she ranks seventh in career field goal percentage. Additionally, Ouimette pulled down 617 rebounds in just 53 games, which is good for 16th on the school's all-time list.
The Beavers captured their fourth straight NEWMAC regular season title and finished the year at 21-5 overall.
