WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Elizabeth Lane (Skaneateles, N.Y.) was recognized for her work in the classroom when she was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference team on Tuesday morning.

Lane, who earned academic all-conference honors for the third season in a row, has started 23 of 25 games and is averaging 4.1 points and 1.7 steals for the 21-4 Beavers. She dished out a season-high seven assists in a 76-71 win at MIT on November 28 and scored a season-best 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting in a victory over Springfield on February 9.

Lane has started 70 times in 103 career games while averaging 5.0 points, 2.2 boards and 1.7 assists. She has helped the program capture four consecutive NEWMAC regular season titles, was part of Babson's run to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2017, and ranks 12th in program history with 55 three-pointers.

In order to be eligible for NEWMAC Academic All-Conference consideration, honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The Beavers, who are the top seed in the NEWMAC Tournament, will host either fourth-seeded MIT or fifth-seeded Emerson in a conference semifinal on Thursday at 7 p.m.
