WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Payton Ouimette (Medfield, Mass.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season on Monday afternoon.
Ouimette recorded three double-doubles and averaged 20.7 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists to help Babson pick up two wins in three games. She had 21 points and 15 boards in a 67-51 victory over Emerson on Monday, followed it up with 13 points and 13 rebounds in Wednesday's loss at Emerson, and then poured in a career-high 28 points to go along with 10 boards and two assists in Saturday's 67-56 triumph over WPI.
Ouimette is averaging 15.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists, and is the only NEWMAC player that ranks in the top 10 in all three categories. She ranks 19th in Division III with a league-high 13 double-doubles and is 20th in the country in rebounds per game.
In addiition to her four NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week awards, she also has been tabbed as the conference's defensive player of the week on two ocassoins this winter.
Babson (18-3, 11-2 NEWMAC) returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts No. 3/4 Tufts on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
