Ouimette Repeats as NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week

WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Payton Ouimette (Medfield, Mass.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week on Monday afternoon.

Ouimette recorded back-to-back double-doubles and averaged 20.0 points, 16.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 50 percent in a pair of wins for the Beavers. She finished with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go along with 10 boards and two steals to help the Green and White defeat UMass Dartmouth, 85-77, in the championship game of the Judy Pearson '85 Memorial Tournament last Monday. Ouimette then followed it up with 20 points, a career-high 22 rebounds and five assists in Saturday's 75-67 triumph at Clark.

The conference leader in double-doubles with eight, Ouimette is averaging 14.9 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists, and is shooting 45.5 percent from the floor. In addition to earning back-to-back NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Week awards, she also has been tabbed as the league's defensive player of the week on two occasions this winter.

Babson (10-2, 4-1 NEWMAC) returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Emerson at 6 p.m. inside Staake Gymnasium.
