Men Finish Seventh, Women 13th at the Saratoga invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—With a late kick, senior John Decker (Parkland, Fla) posted the top Babson men's time of the day, as he finished third at the Saratoga Invitational. The men posted 180-points to place seventh out of 16 teams, while the women's squad recorded 333-points to place 13th in the 17-team field.

Dynan crossed the finish line with a Babson course best 25:37.2 in the 8k as he kicked past RPI Alum Jacob Andrew. Junior Matthew Dynan (Reading, Mass.) finished closely behind, running 25:38.4 to take fourth-place in the team standings.

Babson's three, four, five finished within 20-second of one another as senior Scott Atwood (West Newbury, Mass.), classmate Jonathan Miller, and first-year Zach Goldberg (Westford, Mass.) placed 81st, 86th, 96th, running 27:15.4, 27:21.9 and 27:33.5, respectively.

Rounding out the scoring on the men's side in 123st, and 144th were sophomore Samir Arora (Fremont, Calif.) and junior Austin Henry (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) who ran 28:14.5 and 28:25.4, respectively.

On the women's side, sophomore Stephanie Rodriguez (Guatemala City, Guatemala) led the charge running 19:05.5 for 53rd place on the 5k course. Senior Melanie Plattner (Fort Lee, N.J.) and junior Chaela Hood (Plymouth, Mass.) crossed the finish line running 19:13.7 and 19:37.4, getting under the 20-minute mark.

The rest of the scoring pack for the Green and White finished in an 11-second frame, as first-year Emma Cavanaugh (Southbury, Conn.), senior Heather Murphy (Perrineville, N.J.), and first-years Grace Regan (Kingston, N.Y.) and Caroline Winicki (Middlebury, Conn.) recorded times of 20:03.9, 20:07.8, 20:13.2 and 20:14.0, respectively.

Babson will return to action on October 7th when it travels to Standdish, Maine for the Runnin' Monks Invitational. The women's race will begin at 11 a.m., while the men's meet is slated to start at 12 p.m.
