Men's Tennis Breezes Past Connecticut College, 9-0

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Five players were victorious in both singles and doubles to help Babson College defeat visiting Connecticut College, 9-0, in non-conference men's tennis action on Thursday afternoon at the Babson Tennis Complex.

Babson, which has won three of its last four matches, improves to 9-4 overall, while Connecticut College slips to 5-7 on the year with its third straight loss.

The Beavers seized control of the math with three hard-fought wins in doubles. Sophomores Chris Kolesnik (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Andre Libnic (Coral Gables, Fla.) at number two and junior Dylan Pace (Atherton, Calif.) and first-year Tyler Zhang (Northborough, Mass.) at number three both posted 8-6 victories.

Senior Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and junior Alberto De Mendiola (San Jose, Costa Rica) picked up Babson's third point with an 8-7 (7-4) triumph at number one.

De Mendiola cruised to a 6-3, 6-4 victory at number one singles, Libnic won a second-set tiebreaker to post a 7-5, 7-6 result at number two, and Rosenbluth won 6-0, 6-0 at number three. First-year Ron Brody (Springfield, N.J.) recorded a 6-0, 6-2 decision at number five, while Zhang was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at number six.

The lone three-set match came at number four singles where Kolesnik rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 victory to complete the shutout.

Babson returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Clark at 10:30 a.m., while the Camels travel to Trinity on Sunday at 2 p.m.
