Rosenbluth Named Doubles Player of the Week, Pace and Zhang Collect Doubles Team of the Week Honors
WESTWOOD, Mass.—After winning its first two matches of the spring, three members of the Babson College men's tennis team were honored when the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon.
Senior Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) was selected as the league's singles player of the week, while junior Dylan Pace (Atherton, Calif.) and first-year Tyler Zhang (Southborough, Mass.) earned doubles team of the week honors.
Rosenbluth rallied after dropping the first set to defeat Alexander Ruenhorst of Holy Cross, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, at number three singles in the Beavers' spring opener on March 3. He followed it up with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph again at third singles as Babson edged Trinity on Sunday afternoon.
Babson's third doubles team of Pace and Zhang opened the spring with back-to-back victories. They took down Matthew Murphy and Henry Harrs of Holy Cross, 8-4, and then defeated the Bantams' duo of Granville Kaynor and Christopher Bilicic, 8-3, to earn the team's lone doubles point in Sunday's match.
Babson (4-0), which is off to its best start since 1997, begins a five-match trip to southern California against Whittier on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.
