Men's Tennis Coasts Past UMass Boston, 9-0

BABSON PARK, Mass.—Four different players picked up victories in both singles and doubles as Babson College needed less than two hours to defeat visiting UMass Boston, 9-0, in non-conference men's tennis action on Thursday afternoon.

Babson, which has won two straight matches, improves to 7-3 on the season, while UMass Boston had its five-match winning streak snapped to fall to 5-4 overall.

Junior Brandon Rosenbluth (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and first-year Chris Kolesnik (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted an 8-3 win at number one doubles, while senior Ben Roque (Coral Gables, Fla.) and first-year Andre Libnic (Coral Gables, Fla.) were 8-1 winners at number two. Sophomores Dan Levitan (Winter Park, Fla.) and Dylan Pace (Atherton, Calif.) earned the third point of the day with an 8-0 triumph at number three.

The Beavers rolled through singles dropping no more than two games in any of the six matches. Libnic was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at number one, Rosenbluth recorded a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number two and Kolesnik recorded a 6-0, 6-1 decision at number three.

Levitan breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 result at number four, while seniors Dylan Levy (Miami, Fla.) and Connor Chin (Lexington, Mass.) posted matching 6-0, 6-0 wins at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

Both teams return to action on Saturday as Babson travels to Clark for a 10:30 a.m. start, while UMass Boston visits Rhode Island College at 1 p.m.
