A veteran member of the Babson coaching staff, Rick Echlov is currently in his 29th year as the College's aquatics director and men's and women's swimming coach. Echlov, who also served as Babson's director of summer programs until 2006, is respected as a strong motivator whose training programs have produced 12 All-Americans and numerous All-New England athletes.

In 28 years at the helm of the men's swimming and diving program, Echlov boasts a record of 212-144 (.596), giving him the most victories in program history. This past winter, he led the Beavers to a 7-5 mark and a fourth-place finish at the conference championship meet, enabling him to earn NEWMAC Men's Swimming Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his career. In addition, his teams also earned CSAA Scholar All-America honors in 2011-12 and the NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award in 2009-10 and 2011-12.

Also the head coach of the women's program since its inception in 1985, Echlov sports 138 more victories on the ladies' side, giving him a total of 350 wins overall in his Babson career.

A native of Newton, Mass., Echlov is a 1973 graduate of the University of New Haven. He was a longtime swimming coach at Wellesley High School, earning Coach of the Year honors in 1985 and leading the Red Raiders to the 1988 state championship. Echlov and his wife, Nancy, currently reside in Natick, Mass.
