WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College first-year Charles Wang (San Marino, Calif.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Co-Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday morning.
Over two meets, Wang set two school records, won all five of his individual events and helped the Beavers to two more victories in the relays. He took first place with a season-best time of 21.50 in the 50-yard freestyle and clocked in at 1:01.04 in the 100-yard breaststroke as the Beavers swept Norwich and Regis on Saturday.
Wang was even better on Sunday, winning all three of his individual events and setting a pair of school records. He bettered junior teammate Taras Polakoff's mark with a time of 1:54.34 in the 200-yard backstroke and later broke Steven Jacobi's '14 record with a time of 1:54.33 in the 200-yard IM. Wang also touched the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.40).
Wang, who was also selected as the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Week on November 4, has set three school records in four meets to begin his collegiate career.
Babson (6-0) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Clark at 2 p.m. inside Morse Pool.
