WESTWOOD, Mass.—Babson College senior Jackson Greenspan (Meriden, N.H.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Greenspan keyed the Beavers' second consecutive shutout and picked up an assist on the opening goal in Saturday's 2-0 victory over fourth-ranked Brandeis. He headed a free kick to teammate Alex Crompton for the go-ahead goal in the 57th minute and dominated the box defensively as the Green and White became the first team to blank the Judges in 10 matches.
Babson limited Brandeis to just three shots on goal over the first 78 minutes of the contest, and has not conceded a goal in over 242 minutes going back to its season opener on August 31.
The Beavers (1-0-2) return to action on Tuesday when they host Lesley at 4 p.m., and will open conference play on Saturday at WPI.
