WESTWOOD, Mass.—After opening the season with back-to-back victories, the Babson College men's soccer team swept the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) weekly awards on Tuesday. Sophomore Youcef Ziad (Holbrook, Mass.) was selected as the league's offensive player, while junior Jackson Greenspan (Meriden, N.H.) garnered defensive accolades.
Ziad finished with a goal and an assist in Friday's 3-2 win over St. Lawrence, and added his second tally of the year on Saturday as the Beavers rallied to defeat Clarkson, 3-1. Greenspan helped limit both opponents to just five shots on target and scored the go-ahead goal off a restart in the 76th minute on Saturday to take the lead against the Golden Knights.
Babson, which is off to a its first 2-0 start since 2014, travels to No. 1 Tufts, which won its second Division III national championship in three years last fall, on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
