BABSON PARK, Mass.—Coming off last fall's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season title, Babson College head men's soccer coach Jon Anderson '75 announced the program's 2017 schedule on Friday.
The Beavers, who reached the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in the last nine seasons last year, will face five of last year's national tournament participants this fall. The Green and White opens the season with a set of home matches against St. Lawrence on September 1 and Clarkson on September 2. The Beavers will then hit the road for a pair of away matches against defending Division III champion Tufts on September 6 and Brandeis, which reached the Final Four last season, on September 9. Babson is slated to begin conference play at home against WPI on September 16, and will also travel to Springfield (September 23) and take on MIT (September 30) to close out the month.
Following trips to Emerson (October 7) and Eastern Connecticut State (October 8) as part of a three-match road trip, the Beavers return home for four straight contests. The Green and White is set to face Wheaton and Williams on back-to-back days on October 14 and 15, which is followed by contests against Mitchell (October 18) and Clark (October 21). The Beavers wrap up the regular season at Coast Guard on October 28.
The NEWMAC's top five teams qualify for the league tournament, which begins with the quarterfinals on November 1 and will be followed by the semifinals and championship match at the regular season champion on November 4-5.
