Joe Harty returned to Babson College as the men's and women's alpine ski coach in August 2018.

For Harty, who worked at Babson from 1987-95 and 2001-12, the 2019 campaign marks his fourth stint as the Beavers' head men's and women's alpine ski coach. He served as the head coach from 1989-95, 2004-08 and for one season in 2011.

Harty led the women's program to three straight division titles from 1990-92 and the first of two United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championship appearances in program history in 1991. His men's teams were equally as good, winning a pair of division crowns in 1992 and 1993 and making three national championship appearances, which includes a sixth-place finish in 2006.

Harty coached four All-Americans in his previous stints as the head coach at Babson and was selected as the USCSA Eastern Division Coach of the Year in 1989.

In addition to his work with the ski programs, Harty spent time on head baseball coach Matt Noone's staff as a volunteer assistant coach beginning in 2004. He also served as an assistant pitching coach for the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League from 1998-02, and has been employed as batting practice pitcher and video coordinator for the Pawtucket Red Sox since 2003.
