BABSON PARK, Mass.—The Babson College men's alpine ski team wrapped up the MacConnell Division regular season slate with a pair of second-place finishes in the slalom at Proctor Ski Area on Saturday.
By virtue of Saturday's results, the Beavers finished third in the regular season standings, one point behind second-place Castleton and just three points behind seven-time league champion Clarkson. UConn and Saint Anselm also finished in the top five and qualified for regionals.
Sophomore Jack Blanchard (Dover, Mass.) opened the day with his third victory of the season, while classmate MacIntyre Henderson (Park City, Utah) came in fourth overall. Sophomore Sean Robinson (Reno, Nev.) finished 11th and classmate Douglas DeLuca (Holderness, N.H.) came in 16th.
Henderson and Blanchard finished fifth and sixth in the second race of the day, while Robinson joined them in the top 10 with a ninth-place showing. Sophomore Eli Wolfson (Woodland Hills, Calif.) came in 14th, senior John Boland (Waitsfield, Vt.) was one spot behind him in 15th, and DeLuca rounded of the squad in 19th place.
Four skiers will be named to the MacConnell Division All-League team later this week as Blanchard and Henderson finished second and third, respectively, while DeLuca (14th) and Robinson (15th) grabbed the last two spots on the team.
Babson returns to action on the weekend of February 24-25 when it competes at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at West Mountain.
