  • USCSA Eastern Regionals Preview at West Mountain

    THE SETUP The Babson College men's and women's alpine ski teams will travel to West Mountain for the two-day United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Eastern Regional Championships this weekend. The Beavers will compete in the giant slalom on Saturday and the slalom on Sunday with the top five teams earning a spot at the USCSA National Championships at Whiteface Mountain beginning on March 6.

The Beavers placed second and third in a pair of slalom races on Saturday, which was followed up by a runner-up finish in the giant slalom on Sunday.

    LAKE PLACID, N.Y.—Babson College sophomores Jack Blanchard (Dover, Mass.) and Elizabeth Baer (Sal Lake City, Utah) both recorded a pair of top-five finishes as the Beavers competed in back-to-back giant slalom races at Whiteface Mountain on Saturday and Sunday. The women came in third in both races, while the men were fourth on day one and third on day two.

The women's team, which opened the season with a victory back on January 11 at Okemo, came in fourth overall.
