Burgett opened the second quarter with back-to-back tallies to give Clarkson a 4-2 lead before the Green and White responded with a six-goal run that spanned over 15 minutes around the half. Mishkind then scored twice and Allen notched his second goal of the day to make it 8-4 with 9:57 left in the third quarter.

The Golden Knights responded with three straight goals, which included tallies by senior Peter Herrick (East Greenbush, N.Y.) and junior Derek Beatty (Westford, Mass.) 18 seconds apart to get within 8-7 at the 2:31 mark. Sophomore Mason O'Hanlon (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) pushed the lead back to two a minute later, Jung scored twice to open the fourth quarter and Babson outscored Clarkson 7-1 over the final 15 minutes to pull away.
