Schmidt Earns Trip To Prestigious Men's Lax Senior North/South Game
After earning Pilgrim League All-Conference Second Team honors this spring, Babson College senior midfielder Jamie Schmidt (Shelburne, Vt.) has been selected to participate in the 71st Annual United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Lax World (USILA) Division III Senior North/South Game.

Ten Babson Men's Lacrosse Players Honored By Pilgrim League
The Pilgrim Men's Lacrosse League released its annual postseason awards this week, and Babson College saw a total of 10 players honored for their efforts on the field and in the classroom. Junior captain Alex Patinkin (Providence, R.I.), first-year Phil Russo (Middleton, Mass.), senior Jeff MacCune (Braintree, Mass.), first-year Christian Cattaruzza (Guilford, Conn.), and sophomore Ryan Dawidjan (Worcester, Mass.) were named to the All-Conference First Team, senior captain Cam Caruso (St. Charles, Ill.) and senior Jamie Schmidt (Shelburne, Vt.) were named to the All-Conference Second Team, and Dawidjan, Caruso, junior John Clausing (Ridgewood, N.J.), sophomore Tim Waltman (North Granby, Conn.), and first-year Kevin Airoldi (Kennebunk, Maine) were named to the Pilgrim League Academic All-Conference Team.

Babson Honors Class of 2012 at 31st Annual Senior Athletics Awards Banquet
The Babson College Athletics Department held its 31st Annual Senior Awards Banquet on Friday night where a total of eight individuals received honors. Two women’s basketball seniors, Kathleen King (Framingham, Mass.) and Nicole Wurdeman (Rowley, Mass.) were named co-winners of the Female Athlete of the Class, while men’s soccer senior Max Walker (Newton, Mass.) was named the Male Athlete of the Class.

Babson Teams Set For Huge Saturday
In addition to the top-seeded women’s lacrosse team hosting its conference semifinals and finals this weekend, three other Babson teams will take part in postseason play on Saturday. Third-seeded baseball will serve as co-host of the 2012 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament along with top-seeded Wheaton, second-seeded softball heads to top-seeded Springfield for a huge winners’ bracket matchup, and the track and field teams will travel to Smith for the 2012 NEWMAC Championships.

The Babson College men’s lacrosse team erupted for 19 goals en route to a convincing 19-2 victory over host Regis College on Saturday afternoon. The loss moved Regis to 3-10 overall on the season and 0-4 in the Pilgrim League, while Babson moves to 9-5 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.

With their third win in four games, the Beavers improved to 6-4 on the year, while the Valiants dropped to 2-8 with the loss.

WHITTIER, Calif.—Whittier College senior Daniel McQuade (New Westminster, BC, Canada) scored the game-winning goal with 3:13 remaining in the fourth quarter to help the Poets to a comeback victory over Babson College in non-conference men’s lacrosse action on Tuesday afternoon. The Poets used a four-goal run spanning the third and fourth quarters to help erase a three-goal deficit and overtake the Beavers for the win.

2012 Season Preview: Men's Lacrosse
Coming off its second straight 10-win campaign and the program's first trip to the Pilgrim League championship game since 2001, the Babson College men's lacrosse team is set to begin its 2012 season tomorrow afternoon. The Beavers, who finished with a 10-8 mark last spring, will open with a 2 p.m. matchup against 20th-ranked Skidmore.

Babson Unveils Newly Renovated Turf Surface
This summer's major renovations of Babson's MacDowell Field complex are nearing completion as the start of the school year approaches. Among the upgrades are a brand new surface, new ornamental fencing, and a widening of the pathway between the field and bleachers.
