THE SERIES

Babson and Plymouth State will meet for just the fourth time on Saturday afternoon in a series that dates back to 2003. The Beavers are 1-1-1 all-time against the Panthers.

LAST MEETING
Joe DiPietro '15 and junior Bobby Hall each scored in the second period as then-third-ranked Babson and the Panthers skated to a 2-2 OT tie on January 3, 2015, in Plymouth, N.H. Jamie Murray '16 stopped 23 shots for the Beavers, who had their 11-game winning streak snapped. Andrew Wigg scored the tying goal on the power play 8:10 into the third period for Plymouth State.

LAST BABSON WIN
Dustin Kim '04 scored twice and James LaFreniere '06 added a goal and an assist as the Beavers routed Plymouth State, 7-1, on January 28, 2003, in Babson Park, Mass. Craig Weiner '06 made 21 saves for the Beavers, who scored twice on the power play and struck for four second-period goals in the victory.

LAST PLYMOUTH STATE WIN
Mike Freitag scored twice and Jack Astedt stopped 43 shots as Plymouth State halted Babson's seven-game winning streak with a 4-2 victory on January 5, 2013, in Babson Park, Mass. Alex Cottle and senior Zach Sarig each had a pair of assists for the Panthers, while Troy Starrett '14 and Andrew Bonazza '15 each scored once for the Beavers.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Plymouth State (1-1-0) scored three times in the first period on its way to a 7-2 win over Stonehill in its home opener on Thursday night. Sophomore Ryan Stevens had two goals and three different players contributed a pair of assists for the Panthers, who committed eight penalties in the victory. Sophomore Matt Volonnino (1-3-4) and senior Erik Strom (0-4-4) have combined for seven assists, while Stevens (2-0-2) is one of 10 players to score a goal over the first two games. Sophomore Evan Morelli and Thierry Messervier have posted a 4.00 goals against average and a .805 save percentage in between the pipes.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
No. 11 USCHO/No. 11 D3hockey.com Babson (0-1-1) rallied from a three-goal deficit to finish in a 3-3 OT tie in the second of a two-game series at sixth-ranked Hobart last Saturday. Senior Michael Phillips had a goal and an assist for the Beavers, who tied the game on a tally by fellow senior Tim Searles with 4:33 left in the third period. Phillips (1-2-3) has a point in five of his last six games, junior Ryan Gouveia (2-0-2) has a goal in four straight contests and classmate Rob Devaney chipped in with a pair of assists last weekend. Sophomore netminders Matt Pompa and Bryan Botcher have combined for a 2.88 goals against average and a .920 save percentage thus far.

HOME FOR THE LONG HAUL
The Beavers are 36-4-3 going back to the start of the 2013-14 campaign, will play their next seven games inside the friendly confines of the Babson Skating Center.

NATIONALLY KNOWN
The Green and White has now been ranked in 65 straight D3hockey.com poll and 63 editions of the USCHO.com top 15 going back to February 2013.

POLL POSITION
Babson received three first-place votes and finished third with 69 points in the NEHC preseason coaches' poll. Defending conference champion UMass Boston took home four first-place votes and totaled 74 points, while Norwich came in second with a pair of first-place votes and 70 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Going back to 2012, the Beavers are 24-3-3 in the month of November.
