BABSON PARK, Mass. -- After leading the Babson College ice hockey team to its first victory of the season, junior goaltender Zeke Testa (Wellesley, Mass.) was named ECAC East Goalie of the Week on Monday.
Testa was brilliant in his first start of the season, making 38 saves to lead Babson to a 6-4 win over Saint Anselm on Saturday. He stopped all 18 shots he faced in a critical second period that saw Babson turn a 1-1 tie into a 4-1 advantage. Of the four goals Testa allowed, two came on two-man advantages – one on a 5-on-3 powerplay and the other on a 6-on-4 empty-net powerplay in the final minute.
Now in his third season at Babson, Testa boasts 15 victories, a 2.56 goals against average, and a .918 save percentage in 39 career contests. He and his teammates will return to action with two more conference games this coming weekend, as they travel to Castleton State for a 7 p.m. matchup on Friday night and continue on to Skidmore for a 4 p.m. tilt on Saturday.
