ATTLEBORO, Mass.—The Babson College men's golf team swept the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) weekly awards for the fourth consecutive week on Tuesday morning. Sophomore Chris Bornhorst (West Newton, Mass.) was honored as the league's golfer of the week, while first-year Lane Bohman (Chatham, Mass.) garnered rookie of the week accolades.
Bornhorst rallied from three shots back to tie for medalist honors at the Elms Blazer Invitational with a 3-over par total of 146. He opened with a 2-over 74 at Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst before firing a 1-over 72 at the Orchards Golf Club to finish atop the individual leaderboard for the second tournament in a row.
Bohman was selected as the NECC Rookie of the Week for the third time this fall after finishing sixth at the Blazer Invitational. He was 1-under par after the opening round at Hickory Ridge and finished with a 36-hole total of 7-over 150 to post his third top-10 showing of the fall.
Babson, which lowered its season scoring average to 299.70, wraps up the fall portion of its schedule at the NEIGA Championship on October 22-23.
