NEWINGTON, Conn.—Three different players finished at 7-over par 79 and the Babson College men's golf team sits in a three-way tie for fourth place after the first round of the Bill Detrick Invitational hosted by Trinity College at Indian Head Country Club on Saturday afternoon.
The host Bantams have two teams that are separated by just two shots atop the leaderboard, while Western New England University is just three strokes back with a team total of 305. The Beavers are joined by Amherst College and Tufts University at 317.
Senior Pranav Mohan (Fremont, Calif.), classmate Dan Young (Westwood, Mass.) and sophomore Chris Bornhorst (West Newton, Mass.) all shot 79 for Babson. Senior Ian Notkin (Caldwell, N.J.) carded an 8-over par 80, while classmate Kyle Alexander (Brewer, Maine) is one shot behind him after signing for an 81.
The Green and White returns to the course for Sunday's final round beginning at 12 p.m.
