Men's Golf Finishes Third at Rhode Island College Invitational

WARWICK, R.I.—Sophomore Riley Whitham (Harvard, Mass.) finished with a 3-over round of 75 as the Babson College men's golf team came in 3rd at the 10-team Rhode Island College Invitational at Valley Country Club on Friday.

The Beavers, who are sixth in the initial NCAA Northeast regional rankings, posted a team score of 310 to finish 10 shots in back of first-place Western New England (300) and eight shots behind the host Anchormen's total of 302. Endicott (315) and UMass Dartmouth (320) rounded out the top five.

Whitham came in sixth with his low round of the season, while first-year Martin Jensen (Bronxville, N.Y.) tied for seventh place with a 4-over 76. Junior Kyle Alexander (Brewer, Maine) carded a 78, classmate Daniel Young (Westwood, Mass.) fired an 82 and first-year David Choi (Dallas, Texas) signed for an 85.

Babson returns to action on Tuesday when it in the Newport National Classic hosted by Bentley beginning at 9:30 a.m.
