Men's Golf Comes in Fifth at Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.—First-year Chris Bornhorst (West Newton, Mass.) shot a 5-over par 76 for the second day in a row as the Babson College men's golf team finished fifth at the Williams Invitational hosted by Taconic Golf Club on Sunday.

The Beavers recorded a team score of 313 on Sunday and posted a two-day total of 623. Williams, which started the day one shot out of the lead, shot 297 on Sunday to finish at 599 for a five-shot victory over Trinity. Middlebury and Tufts both tied for third at 619, while the Green and White finished one shot ahead of sixth-place Amherst.

Bornhorst posted a 36-hole total of 152 to finish in a tie for 12th place on the individual leaderboard. First-year David Choi (Dallas, Texas) came in 15th after carding rounds of 77-76 to finish at 11-over par 153, while sophomore Kyle Alexander (Brewer, Maine) shot 78-80 to come in tied for 26th position at 158.  

Junior Ian Notkin (Caldwell, N.J.) followed up Saturday's 79 with an 81 on Sunday to finish 32nd overall at 160. Sophomore Lukas Linemayr (Hampton, N.H.) shot 80-83 to tie for 40th place overall with a 36-holte total of 163.

Babson returns to action in its final event before the NECC Championship on Tuesday in the Westfield State Invitational at Tekoa Country Club.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
•    The Beavers now own seven top-five finishes at the Williams Invitational.
•    Choi led the 96-player field with 25 pars over two rounds at Taconic G.C., while Bornhost tied for fifth overall with 22 parts.
•    Babson has finished sixth or higher in 10 straight fall tournaments with seven or more teams going back to 2014.
