Following a standout college career followed by four years of professional baseball, Andrew Aizenstadt ’11 beings his first season as an assistant baseball coach at Babson College in 2015.
A two-time All-NEWMAC and all-region selection, Aizenstadt went 17-4 with a 2.73 earned run average and 157 strikeouts in 178.0 innings pitched from 2008-11 for the Beavers. After earning NEWMAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2010, he went 8-1 with a 2.58 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 69.2 innings while helping Babson win the NEWMAC Tournament championship and its first NCAA Tournament game in program history.
Aizenstadt, who was limited to just one appearance as a junior in 2010, concluded his collegiate career at Division I Virginia Tech in 2012. He went 2-3 in 16 appearances and was one of three Hokies named to the ACC Academic All-Conference team. Aizenstadt was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies in July 2012 and made 104 appearances over four years with three of their Single A affiliates, three Independent League squads and the Brisbane Bandits in Australia.
