Babson and UMass Boston will meet for the 36th time on Thursday afternoon in a series that dates back to 1982. The Beavers are 23-12 all-time against the Beacons but dropped all three matchups between the teams last season.
Dan Mantoni homered and drove in three runs, while Josh Lopez went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI to help UMass Boston defeat Babson, 11-8, in the NCAA Tournament Harwich Regional final May 21, 2017, at Whitehouse Field. Senior David Lennon drove in two runs and Jack Halpin '17 became the Beavers' all-time hits leader before the Beacons took the lead for took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Halpin and Owen Shea '17 combined to go 7-for-10 with three extra-base hits, five runs scored and 12 runs batted in as the Beavers exploded past UMass Boston, 17-6, on April 10, 2014, in Babson Park. Dillon Gonzalez '15 also went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored for Babson, which broke the game open with a six-run third inning. Mantoni doubled and drove in three runs for the Beacons.
SCOUTING THE BEACONS
No. 8 UMass Boston (19-5) has won eight in a row after defeating Roger Williams, 9-2, on Wednesday afternoon. Junior Wanderson Pinales was 3-for-5 with three RBI and classmate Nick Herzog had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Beacons, who have scored nine or more runs in seven of their last eight outings. Senior Chris Fowler is batting .393 with 12 doubles, five home runs and 31 runs batted in, classmate Dave Murphy is hitting .386 with seven doubles, nine homers and 28 RBI, and sophomore Ryan McCormick checks in at .371 with eight doubles and 20 RBI. Junior Bobby Tramondozzi is 2-0 with four saves and a 0.56 ERA in 16.0 innings, while sophomore JT Morin is 2-1 with a 2.01 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 22.1 innings.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Babson (18-7) extended its winning streak to 11 with a 6-3 victory over Springfield on Tuesday afternoon. Junior Brian McHale doubled twice and drove in three runs, while classmate Michael Genaro struck out a season-high eight batters over seven innings for the Beavers, who finished with 12 hits. Lennon is batting .365 with seven doubles and eight runs batted in, senior Ryan Arena is hitting .364 with nine doubles, six home runs and 28 RBI, and sophomore Sean Harrington boasts a .516 on-base percentage to go along with nine extra-base hits, 19 walks and 20 runs driven in. Classmate Michael Nocchi is 1-0 with a 0.66 ERA in nine appearances, while junior Edward Lehr has gone 1-1 with a 1.88 ERA in 14.1 innings this spring.
Babson, which is tied for third longest winning streak in Division III at 11 games, and the Beacons, who have won 13 consecutive games in the month of April going back to last year hook up on Thursday in a rematch of last year's Harwich Regional final.
STAYING HOT AT THE PLATE
Senior Mark Webber has hit safely in 13 consecutive games and is batting .400 with seven doubles, two homers, 14 RBI and 18 runs scored during this stretch. Sophomore Jake Oliger is riding an 11-game hitting streak during which he is hitting .500 with a .600 on-base percentage to go along with one double, one homer and 15 runs batted in.
Six different starting pitchers have combined to go 8-0 with a 3.14 ERA and 51 strikeouts over 63.0 innings during Babson's 11-game winning streak. The Beavers' starters have gone at least 6.0 innings in eight starts, are holding opposing hitters to just a .241 average, and have given up just 12 extra-base hits during this stretch.
