Brendan Gorman is entering his sixth season as head coach of the
Babson men's lacrosse program in 2014-15. In his first five seasons
at the helm, he has guided the Beavers to an overall record of
51-37 and five straight conference tournament appearances -
including a pair of trips to the Pilgrim League championship game
and a berth in the NEWMAC title game in 2014.
Gorman, who was named Pilrgrim League Co-Coach of the Year in 2011, also serves as Babson's Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
A 2004 graduate of Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, Gorman came to Babson after spending four years as the head assistant coach at the Rochester Institute of Technology. There, he served as the Tigers' defensive coordinator in 2006 and 2007 and their offensive coordinator in each of the last two seasons. In addition to recruiting and coaching numerous All-Conference and All-American athletes as well as several Academic All-Americans, he also served as the assistant supervisor of RIT's varsity weight room.
A four-year letter-winner at Hartwick from 1999 to 2002, Gorman served as an assistant coach for the Hawks in 2003. He then spent a year as an assistant at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania before heading to RIT.
Along with his collegiate coaching experience, Gorman has worked at numerous lacrosse camps along the East Coast, including those at RIT, Brown University, and Navy, as well as camps overseas in England and Italy. He has served as a coach in the prestigious USILA Division III North/South All-Star Game, spoken at the National Lacrosse Coaches Convention, and spent five months as a starting attack and offensive coordinator for the Burnside Lacrosse Club in Adelaide, Australia.
