Jeremy Viens begins his fifth year as the Athletics Communications Director at Babson College in the fall of 2017. A member of the athletics staff at Babson since 2008, Viens served as assistant men’s basketball coach for five seasons from 2008-13, and as the assistant sports information director for two years prior to his promotion in 2013.
Viens oversees all day-to-day to operations of the athletics communications office, which includes publicizing the school’s 22 varsity programs, maintaining the department’s website, recordkeeping and managing Babson’s streaming video platform. He also assists in all athletics marketing initiatives, and in building the Babson brand through the use of social media.
Over the last four years at Babson, Viens has served as the host communications director for eight NCAA Tournament events or regionals, and more than 40 conference championship contests. He is also a member of the Hall of Fame committee at Babson and served on the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Awards committee in 2015-16.
Prior to Babson, Viens spent one year as the Director of Operations at Hoop Mountain Basketball where he assisted with some of the top prep school basketball events in New England. He also served as an assistant basketball coach at Elmira College from 2004-07 and at Ferrum College from 2002-04.
A 2002 graduate of Syracuse University, Viens is a member of both the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and Eastern College Athletic Conference Sports Information Directors Association (ECAC-SIDA).
