BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Babson Athletics and Recreation recently installed the newest feature within the Webster Athletic Center - a 13-foot wide display commemorating all of the College's conference champions and national tournament-qualifying teams. This project was made possible by a generous donation from the Crowley family - Paul Crowley '78 M'81 P'12, Tina Crowley '78 M'88 P'12, and soccer All-American Peter Crowley '12 - in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. Crowley and Mr. and Mrs. William Boulton Kelly, Jr.

Located in the lower lobby across from the entrance to the athletic training room, Babson's new "Wall of Champions" honors the 134 teams in the school's history that have won their conference title, earned a trip to their respective national championship tournament, or both. The wall compliments other historical features that have been added or renovated within the athletics facilities in recent years, including the athletics history wall in the upstairs lobby and the Babson Athletics Hall of Fame display in the lower lobby.

"Until now, we really didn't have anything in our facility that commemorated all of our teams' achievements prior to our current conference affiliations," said Director of Athletics and Recreation Josh MacArthur. "The banners in Staake Gymnasium honor some of our NCAA Tournament participants as well as our NEWMAC, ECAC, and NECC champions, but teams that won previous conferences like the CAC or NEW 8 are not represented."

"We hope this display will inspire memories that are absolutely priceless to our loyal alumni while also providing our current and future student-athletes with some perspective on the commitment and dedication that it takes to be successful at Babson."

In addition to Babson's previous conference titles, the new display also recognizes national championship appearances by sports such as alpine skiing and swimming and diving, whose official participation at those events is based on the scoring of individual qualifiers rather than team bids.

"Thanks to the generosity of the Crowley family, this new display honors every single team that has ever won their league title or represented Babson in their national championship. It will serve as an everlasting testament to the dedication, hard work, and sacrifice of the student-athletes and coaches on those squads."
